The Medina of Marrakech is a UNESCO world heritage site. The souks of the Medina start from Jemma el Fna square. There are quite a large number of cafes and restaurants around the square. In the Medina the souks are split into different crafts, for example, one street would dedicated to leather products, one clay and one for clothing. When shopping in Marrakech Medina, it is important to remember that prices are not fixed and that there is huge room for negotiation. Seen from Marrakech, the vast, imposing mass of the snow-capped mountains seems unreal and distant.
